So, [info]callyfin posts a cute little pokemon album. I fall in love with the terrible-good singing of the 3rd song (Flexible GAS GAS), find out its Suzukisan and all is right with the world. Completely turned my terrible customer-stuffed day into something bearable.

This lead into rewatching the Pokemon Gotta Dance short (that is just a clip form it) since it is probably my favorite pokemon song. Which lead into me deciding I should learn the dance, because now I feel extra silly. And then I had a short brain spasm when one of the albums was titled "Can You Name All the Pokémon Neo?" - There I found a lovely song called "Ne-o-e-oh!" which (and I'm really just being crazy here) is adorable because of the "Ne-o-ne-o ne-e-oh!" lyrics. I ended it with rekindling my love for the Pokemon Ondo.

I also have to point out that SPEED GAMERS did an amazing job catching them all during their pokemon-a-thon fund-raising event. I popped in the past few days to watch their progress (sadly I forgot to mention it here in time, but there is always NEXT TIME).

I am busy, tired, and cranky from work. I have consistently low blood pressure, I am anemic, and I have been fighting anxiety and panic attacks every other day. But at least today I remembered to take an extra triple helping of silly to right the wrongs.

I would like to extend thanks to [info]mad__pierrot for the delicious mix-zip (the Doom music! All of it, I loved it all!). To [info]ilyat for bringing me cookies at work and a whole multitude of you guys for gifting me your favorite recipes. To [info]goddamnmorti for the card and sketches, [info]boatswain for the extra adorable card, [info]magpiedragon for the beautiful postcard (my dad especially likes the art). I have the cards I've received this year on my art desk to brighten my night after a miserable work day.

I don't get any downtime until February. But I'll get there. Watch me!

You inspired me more then you can ever know. Thank you.

MOART: It simply means, MORE ART.

As in, "To post moart."

Inducted into the official Keembeast dictionary. Mangling words and spelling for ages to come.

I have been currently reading this book, Color: A Natural History of the Pallete by Victoria Finlay.

If you have any interest in color, I highly suggest it. It does not go over color theory or uses or handling. It simply covers where colors have come from, how they were (or are) formed, and all the stories that are wrapped up in history about color.

I've only read a couple chapters (currently on "Brown" having finished "Ochre" and "Black"), but I am already preparing for a second read through. Mostly to track down other books the author mentions. I haven't even hit the chapters on the more colorful colors yet. I've cried twice already, the history of color (so far) is just somber and full of misery (I'm also sensitive, but you know that by now). There may be cheerful happenstance, but mostly it is a morbid history.

There is something just, powerful, in reading some of the stories. It puts into perspective how much we take for granted, with digital and everything modern. Paper for us is so easy to acquire. We can draw on things people throw away, cardboard and wood found in the trash. How can it feel to be in a location full of artists that desperately want something as simple as a canvas and never get it.

Only a hundred or so pages in and I feel it's already filled my head with too much information. It all goes back into how I personally feel about art. We should create because we can. Because we have opportunities some people don't. There is no room to be afraid of paint, or pencil, or color, or canvas, simply because if we don't use its potential, who is going to? The media we have is meant to be used, so use it.
